Access Statement

Introduction
The House is Grade 2 * listed and as such has restricted access. There is level access from the pavement to ground floor to include sitting room and kitchen. The stairs to first and second floors while in accordance with building regulations for domestic use do turn as they go up, and all toilet facilities are on first and second floors.
The accommodation is not recommended for toddlers and children under 5, however please contact the owner to discuss this, if required.

York has a very good Park and ride scheme run by first York, who also provide very good public transport around and across the city.

The Dutch House is inside the city walls in the heart of York, Once you arrive the city is best viewed as a pedestrian and there is little need to use a car.

Local Taxis are available and we recommend the following Streamline 01904 638833 who also have WCF cars available and local taxis on 01904 641341

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
A single car parking space is provided behind secure electric gates with CCTV security. We provide you with the gate access code prior to or on arrival. The car parking area is block paved with level access to the front door of the Dutch House. We would advise that the footpath is narrow.

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
The house is accessed of the footpath in front and has just one external door. Lighting in the street is low and sympathetic to the history of the location.

Laundry
Washer drier provided in the cupboard next to fire place in second floor bedroom.

Self-Catering Kitchen
Kitchen is on the ground floor.

Instructions for appliance use are in the black folder in the living area.

Hot water is always available, care should be taken as it is very hot and supplies mixer taps.

There are Granite work surfaces.

All appliances are fully integrated and include microwave oven, electric hob, extractor, Fridge, Freezer and dishwasher.

Ground floors are natural stone and upper floors are solid Oak, with tiles in wc areas and shower. All floors have under floor heating.

Lighting is good with dimmable switches.

Additional Information
We would ask in the event of fire all occupants evacuate the building and call 999. DO NOT TAKE ANY RISKS.

Future Plans
The property is a famous part of York’s History as it is the oldest brick built house. We purchased the house close to collapse and embarked on a significant program of restoration. Our aim is to look after the house to allow visitors to our fantastic city the chance to stay in a very special home.
